What’s Included:
Counted needlepoint is just like counted cross stitch but on a needlepoint canvas. Counted needlepoint begins with a blank canvas and a digital chart. It is up to the stitcher to translate the design from the chart to the canvas. Some stitchers opt to paint their own canvases while others (myself included) like to grid their canvas, find a starting point on the chart, and start stitching! Counted needlepoint is much more affordable and allows more people to discover the joy of needlepoint without the high price tag.
Traditional needlepoint designs are hand-painted onto the canvas, and the stitcher essentially “stitches-by-number” to stitch the canvas. Traditional painted needlepoint also has a higher price tag due to the labor involved since each canvas is meticulously hand-painted.
This is 100% up to the stitcher and is part of the fun of needlepoint! I provide the DMC floss colors to help you pull threads of similar colors. I prefer to use DMC stranded floss because it’s affordable and readily available.
No, I do not offer painted canvases.
100%!
If I’m using these designs for cross stitch, what size Aida should I use?
Use the same size Aida as the specified needlepoint canvas. For example, if a design says 13 mesh, use 13 count Aida.
If I’m using these designs for cross stitch, how many strands of thread should I use?
I recommend 4 strands, but it truly depends on the amount of coverage you want. This is a great resource for number of strands and coverage! https://lordlibidan.com/how-many-strands-of-thread-should-you-use/
At this time, I do not. If you want a design kitted, please reach out and I will see what I can do! If there’s enough interest in having my designs kitted, I may offer kitting services in the future.
